    Judy Nemmers, LISW

I’m Judy Nemmers. I’ve been a social worker for more than 20 years. Recently I decided to specialize in the treatment of anxiety and OCD, for very personal reasons. My mother, and other family members, have suffered from both. Unfortunately, they passed away before the widespread use of Exposure/Response Prevention therapy. They never got the help they needed to free them of their persistent symptoms. But you don’t have to suffer another day. I can help you to implement research-based strategies that will lead to freedom from the symptoms that keep you “stuck” and unable to move forward in life.

Insomnia is very often a result of anxiety and intrusive thoughts. My training in CBT for Insomnia offers additional relief to individuals across Iowa, who may not have in person access to this treatment.

As a result of my family’s suffering, I’m committed to sharing these healing therapies with Iowans who are experiencing similar symptoms. And by transitioning my practice to only online therapy (or Telehealth), I can provide relief to anyone living in Iowa! Who said technology is bad? I see my ability to provide Telehealth services, as a special gift. A gift of healing for any Iowan who is hurting. Know that you are not alone in your journey. Help, healing and hope are just a video session away.
